Wine for the masses hits stride

A number of prominent wine producers have begun marketing non-traditional packaging, such as boxes and screw tops — historically considered crude by connoisseurs — citing lower costs and increased consumer convenience. Last year, US boxed-wine sales rose 44 percent.
